Big news: new list of 92 fox farm addresses

Massive list of new fox farm addresses is released. Just weeks after 60 new mink farm addresses were exposed, an anonymous group calling itself the Fur Farm Intelligence Unit (not to be confused with the Fur Farm Intelligence Project) has released the biggest list of fox farms to date. The list includes 92 previously-unpublished addresses of what are believed to be fox farms. The message that accompanied the list reads, in part: Fox farm addresses are very scarce, and this list more than quadruples the number of known fox farms in the United States. The release of this list follows 60 new mink farm addresses which were made public by above-ground groups last month. The first half of 2012 has already seen the largest release of new fur farm intelligence since the 1990s. Included in the list are previously unknown fox farms in the following states: Idaho: 1 Iowa: 7 Illinois: 9 Indiana: 5 Maine: 1 Michigan: 8 Minnesota: 19 Missouri: 1 North Dakota: 2 Nebraska: 2 New York: 6 Ohio: 3 Pennsylvania: 8 South Dakota: 1 Utah: 1 Virginia: 1 Wisconsin: 15 The addresses don’t appear to have been investigated, and over the next several days Coalition Against Fur Farms will be doing what we can to verify the addresses and provide more information. Please check back for our full report. In the meantime, here is the new list: (click “Read More” below for the full list) Babcok Farm 1997 235th Street New Hampton IA 50659 Doug Babcock 641-394-4927 Fox farm Burgin Farm 1105 11th Street Milford IA 51351 Wesley Burgin Fox farm Bush Farm 711 N 14th Ave Winterset IA 50273-1740 Dan Bush Fox farm Harms Farm 3201 200th Avenue Titonka IA 50480 Roger Harms Fox farm Moran Farm 3191 390th Street Ruthven IA 51358-7533 Bob Moran Fox farm Dorothy & Allen Schwab Fox Shippers/Fox Producers 33714 280th St. Shell Rock IA 50670 319-987-2728 Fox farm Shaw Farm 2250 Carver Road Winterset IA 50273 John Shaw Fox farm Kraemer Farm RR1 Box 1065 Farrfield ID 83327 Jim Kraemer Fox farm Fox Shippers Council RR1 Box 140 Oquaka IL 61469 Timothy Allaman Fox farm Binkley Farm 13582W Springdale Road Forreston IL 61030 Gretchen...

New info on animals at the notorious Fraser Fur Farm

CAFF receives new information on species and number of animals imprisoned at Montana wildcat farm. Fraser Fur Farm in Ronan, MT is legendary for its title as the largest wildcat farm in the country. Very little is known about this farm, and most of what is known comes from this anonymous report from 2009 (includes the only known photos taken inside the farm), and details included in the 2009 book Operation Bite Back. Coalition Against Fur Farms has obtained new information on Fraser Fur Farm, which we are making available for the first time. This information includes confirmation that Fraser also imprisons fox and coyote (this was previously not known), and the number of bobcats killed (almost 90). This is the number of animal skins sold by Corey Richwine of Fraser Fur Farm at an auction in February. Coyotes: 43 Red Fox: 9 Cross Fox: 2 Bobcats:...

Fur Farmers Receive “Security Bulletin” about CAFF

Coalition Against Fur Farms has received a Fur Commission USA “security bulletin” that was sent out to fur farmers, warning them of the re-launching of CAFF – and telling them to contact law enforcement about the information we post. While we are flattered to be warranting this attention from the fur industry, Michael Whelan (aka Michael James) has clearly not read our mission statement: our intention with the information we post is not for it to be used for illegal activity. However with an industry as twisted and deranged as fur farming, any lifting of the veil of secrecy is perceived as a dangerous threat. We are pleased that we are having an impact, albeit not in the way we intended. The full text of the security bulletin email is as follows: “Fur Commission USA Security Alert – New Farm Postings June 25th, 2012 Our opponents have been listing fur farm addresses for years, and for the recent past, most farmers have been left alone.  A website (www.coalitionagainstfurfarms.com) has been postings “newly discovered” addresses of fur farms, in addition to other industry information since the beginning of May. We believe that the farm information is gathered through business filings, in addition to satellite and on-the-ground reconnaissance (they do not appear to be sure of the operational status of many of the ranches.) Please be aware that no US fur farm is entirely safe from attack, but proper security precautions can “harden the target” and send a would-be attacker elsewhere. We urge all ranchers to check their security and be aware of any suspicious vehicles and/or persons near the property. Remember, Fur Commission USA is available to perform a security assessement on your facility, free of charge. Please inform your local law enforcement agency of the list at www.finalnail.com and the postings that appear on www.coalitionagainstfurfarms.com Distributed by Michael Whelan Fur Commission...

Photos from Inside a Chicago-Area Fox Farm

The photos below were taken at a fox farm in Joliet, Illinois; near Chicago. This farm was made public after PETA posted images of this farm, and the name of its owner: Richard Ross. Ross is a pastor at the St. Bernard Parish. Coalition Against Fur Farms has obtained the full collection of photos taken by a PETA investigator at this farm, as well as several videos (which will be posted in the near future). Some of these photos have not been seen until now. The available information on the farm, as listed in The Blueprint 2010 Supplement, is as follows: fur farm 17135 & 17141 Rosalind Street Joliet, IL 60432 Robert L. & Joan C. Kern, and / or Richard Ross. Notes: Fox farm. Confirmed open, 2010. Ross is a Catholic priest. Holds approximately 100 foxes. Cages at far south end of property, hidden in the woods. The Richard Ross fox farm appears to be a small backyard operation, holding 50 to 100 foxes at most. Satellite images of the farm show it to be well-concealed under a canopy of trees, and to be comprised of dozens of small cages in a very small area.
